Testing the Waters...

Hi Guys!

Today, I would like to show you some of the screenshots I took from Dota 2.
Ofcourse, all these images were taken from my own account.
(which was generously given by Steam support team)
By the way I also include a video clip, wherein I owned Doombringer and Magina.
I am not bragging about anything, I am Not PRO to begin with.
I am just one of those players who were lucky enough to be paired up with good team mates.
So with no further ado, here are the different heroes I have used since I played Dota 2. (that rhymes!)

ENJOY!

Are You 1 of Us?

Imagine my surprise when I saw Steam's new email on my Inbox.
I was thinking that it was just another update regarding their site.
Never expected that I will be receiving it after months of waiting. (LOL!)

You guessed it right guys. :)

The email is none other than the prestigious invite, to play the most anticipated DOTA 2!
Woooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I was in the office and yes I am pulling myself together and exerting so much effort not to scream, ahahaha. I'm totally freakin' out right now.
Need to wait until 5 to go home though. Arrggghhhhh!

Thank you so much Valve!

In the Company of Wolves

This afternoon, at work, my friend Karen,
told me about posted pictures she saw from Facebook.
She looked scared while telling me the story.
Well, not all of it though, (just a few spoilers)
since she doesn't wanna read the details of how the victim was tortured.

Honestly, it's because of  how she reacted that made me interested.
I searched for it immediately (Google) when I arrived home.
And yes, it wasn't just another spam in Facebook, it's for real!
Her name is Junko Furuta, a 16 year old girl from Misato, Saitama Prefecture.

I came across different results after I searched it.
Listed as one of the major crimes in Japan (Wikipedia).
Different blog postings about her tragic story.
And YouTube, showing videos of crime re-enactments.
There were also some films made, based on the murder case.
Like the Concrete-Encased High School Girl Murder Case in 1995.
And another one in 2004, titled Concrete (AKA Schoolgirl in Cement).

The Japanese Visual Kei/rock band "the GazettE", even released a song
on their album NIL called "Taion" (Body Temperature) as a tribute.

Even after I saw, read and watched the video clips of Junko Furuta's murder,
I still can't believe that a human did that to her. (FYI group of minors)

They said that, things happen for a reason.
But that I won't accept (referring to her murder), whatever it might be.

I pray that her soul and her parents
get the justice that they truly deserved.

DAY 1: November 22, 1988:
Kidnapped
Kept captive in house, and posed as one of the boy’s girlfriend
Raped (over 400 times in total)
Forced to call her parents and tell them she had run away
Starved and malnutritioned
Fed cockroaches to eat and urine to drink
Forced to masturbate
Forced to strip in front of others
Burned with cigarette lighters
Foreign objects inserted into her vagina/anus
DAY 11: December 1, 1988:
Severely beat up countless times
Face held against concrete ground and jumped on
Hands tied to ceiling and body used as a punching bag
Nose filled with so much blood that she can only breath through her mouth
Dumbbells dropped onto her stomach
Vomited when tried to drink water (her stomach couldn’t accept it)
Tried to escape and punished by cigarette burning on arms
Flammable liquid poured on her feet and legs, then lit on fire
Bottle inserted into her anus, causing injury
DAY 20: December10, 1989:
Unable to walk properly due to severe leg burns
Beat with bamboo sticks
Fireworks inserted into anus and lit
Hands smashed by weights and fingernails cracked
Beaten with golf club
Cigarettes inserted into vagina
Beaten with iron rods repeatedly
Winter; forced outside to sleep in balcony
Skewers of grilled chicken inserted
into her vagina and anus, causing bleeding
DAY 30:
Hot wax dripped onto face
Eyelids burned by cigarette lighter
Stabbed with sewing needles in chest area
Left nipple cut and destroyed with pliers
Hot light bulb inserted into her vagina
Heavy bleeding from vagina due to scissors insertion
Unable to urinate properly
Injuries were so severe that it took over an hour
for her to crawl downstairs and use the bathroom
Eardrums severely damaged
Extreme reduced brain size
DAY 40:
Begged her torturers to “kill her and get it over with”
January 1, 1989:
Junko greets the New Years Day alone
Body mutilated
Unable to move from the ground
DAY 44: January 4, 1989:
The four boys beat her mutilated body with an iron barbell,
using a loss at the game of Mah-jongg as a pretext.
She is profusely bleeding from her mouth and nose.
They put a candle’s flame to her face and eyes.
Then, lighter fluid was poured onto
her legs, arms, face and stomach, and then lit on fire.
This final torture lasted for a time of two hours.
Junko Furuta died later that day alone, in pain.
Nothing could compare 44 days of suffering she had to go through.
When her mother heard the news
and details of what had happened to her daughter, she fainted.
She had to undergo a psychiatric outpatient treatment .
Imagine her endless pain.
Her killers are now free men.
Justice was never served, not even after 20 years.
They deserved punishment much greater than they had put upon Furuta,
and for putting an innocent girl through the most unbearable suffering.
Everyone should know about the existence
of Junko Furuta’s unimaginable and incomprehensible suffering,
Never let her story be forgotten.
If this story changes the life of at least one person then it has been worth it.

RIP

Junko Furuta

In The World of Murim

I love to read manga, may it be shounen, shoujo, or seinen, I will not miss it if the story line is good. And since Manga has been the signature name to most scanlated comic sites I have visited, I definitely will brand all scans there as manga. Little did I know, that some of the series there should be called, Manhwa.

Manhwa [manɦwa;많와] is the general Korean term for comics and print cartoons (common usage also includes animated cartoons). Outside of Korea, the term usually refers specifically to South Korean comics. The term, along with manga, is a cognate of the Chinese manhua. Manhwa were inspired by classic Asian arts, especially Chinese. Manhwa has been influenced by the dramatic modern history of Korea, resulting in a diversity of forms and genres, including a mainstream style similar to manga. Distinctive Manhwa can be found in editorial comic strips, artistically-oriented works, and web comics serials.
DID YOU KNOW ► That Full House in 2004 and Goong ("Palace" or "Princess Hours") in 2006, are some of the Manhwa series adapted to live drama. Even the 2011 American horror film, Priest was also adapted from Manhwa.
I learnt about the term Manhwa when I accidentally used Advance Search option, to sort out finished series in Manga Fox. Yes, I am sorting finished series because I'm not fond of waiting. And all this time, I have been ignorantly telling everyone that the series I was reading was Manga. (LOL!)

My recent finished Manhwa series:
The Breaker (Part 1)
published by Daiwon C.I.
written by Jeon Geuk-Jin (전극진),
illustrated by Park Jin-Hwan (박진환 or Kamaro)

Of course, I recommended the series as soon as I finished it. I posted it to different Facebook groups I'm in and even published it to my wall. Just imagine how I forced someone who's not fond of reading to read it, ahahaha. (evil grin)

Most of the time, after office hours, I'll head directly home and spend the rest of the day playing HON (HON=Heroes of Newerth). But my daily routine changed after I started reading The Breaker (last week). I literally ignored the game just to focus on this manhwa. I even downloaded it to my phone so that I can still read it while lying in bed. Believe me, I sometimes tire from sitting infront of my PC. (stop rolling your eyes!)

It's a mix of martial arts, fantasy, shounen and a hint of comedy/drama. The illustrator successfully depicted what the author of this series wanted to achieve. You will feel the emotion of each characters just by looking at his drawings.

So close to perfection (my opinion, not yours LOL!), that even through black and white scans (c/o Manga Fox), the feeling of the story has not been hindered. I'm not gonna talk about the story, I hate spoilers too, you know.

It moves fast, but not fast enough. As you get into the story, you'll definitely left panting for more information and more forward motion, because it's so plainly evident that everything that's going on, is going to have consequences.

I admit having this habit of being overly obsessive to almost everything. (LOL!)
Too much "BLAH!" and another "BLAH!" will not explain why I'm so into it.
That's why I am also going to recommend this manhwa series to you.

I hereby certify that I hold no shares nor connected to the publisher of this series.
(ahahaha!)

You may think that I'm exaggerating . And maybe right now you're prolly thinking that it's not as great as your manga series. But come to think of it, why claim great if there's no comparison at all?

Therefore, reading The Breaker manhwa, is the answer. (persuasive isn't it? :) )

Band of the New Age

L-R►Miks Bersales, EO Marcos, PaoloValenciano, Sho Hikino

Salamin is a Christian alternative metal band from the Philippines, founded in 2005. They launched their self-titled debut album in 2006. The name of the band was suggested by their former vocalist, JR Enrile, who took it from  a building he saw in Salcedo Village, Makati.

Musical influences such as Deftones, Linkin Park, Incubus, Rage Against The Machine, Foo Fighters, The Mars Volta, Sparta, Coheed and Cambria, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, have led their way to rock nation and garnered various accolades such as MTV Philippines' Rising Star and nominated for NU Rock Awards' Best New Act.

Honestly, I wasn't impressed with Salamin's first album (which I copied from my colleague, hehe). I saved it in my iPhone expecting a lot. But I ended up pressing skip and never really bothered listening at all.

However, things changed instantaneously after seeing them perform live. I couldn't help but be totally mesmerized with the way they owned the stage. The transformation is really outstanding and unbashingly explosive.

Their music, though refreshing,
is still distinctively new to mainstream.
But then again, innovation also applies to music.
For me, "Hello Anxiety", is worth every penny.

Aural Amalgam of Art and Angst

Alternative Rock is a genre of rock music that emerged in the 1980s and became popular in the 1990s.
Alternative rock consists of various sub genres that have emerged from the independent music scene since the 1980s, such as grunge, Britpop, Gothic rock, indie pop, and indie rock.
Some examples of alternative rock bands that have achieved commercial success and mainstream critical recognition are Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M.,Coldplay, The Smiths, The Cure, Jane's Addiction, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, The Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Oasis, Weezer, Radiohead, The White Stripes, and Muse.

Why am I telling you these things?
Mainly because of two reasons;
1. Alternative Rock is one of my fave genres.
2. I would like to feature one of the promising indie Alternative Rock bands in the Philippines, AvayaDown.

AvayaDown is composed of 4 guys who share the same vision of bridging the gap between musical differences. It is radio-friendly but not Pop Rock, you can play it mainstream but will always be alternative and most of all not Heavy Metal.

Michael Hernandez - Guitar 2
Nico Navarro - Drums & Vocals
Aaron James Mollo - Vocals & Guitars
Christian Morales - Bass Guitar

Same as how they describe their music, I agree that mixing hexatone-scale-oriented-melodic guitar riffs, heart-pounding drumbeats, solid Bass lines, husky-yet-steady vocals and lyrics will stand out amongst mainstream music.

James agreed to an exclusive interview. However, due to our busy schedules we weren't able to meet halfway. But don't worry, I know that even without the Q&A portion, I'm sure that you'll still gonna love these guys.

Check 'em out here!

FIT or not FIT?

Miss me guys? Yeah, I know and I’m guilty about it. It’s been what, a month?! Errr...
I can’t think of a good reason, so I’m just gonna use the same old phrase. “I’m busy.”
Seriously, I can’t think of any topic for the past weeks. And that’s one of the reasons why I haven’t posted anything. I was really frustrated yesterday because of that, so what I did was to ask a fresh mind for a new one. He said I should write something about what’s trending now. First few suggestions were not passable until he mentioned “GYM”.

Hmmn…

What made me choose this topic?
As you can see now, a lot of people have been going out to the gym.
(I remember when I was a kid, my mother used to go there to attend aerobics class).
Back then, the gym is just for oldies, you will barely see a minor there.
Nowadays, people who go to the gym are getting younger and younger.
And not only aerobics can be seen in their list of offered classes.
They now offer boxing, dance, self-defense, yoga etc.
Even kids have their own version of the gym too! "The Little Gym"

So what happened?
What made those yuppies and not –so-old people (hehe) decided to enter the world of physical fitness?

To answer all my questions and your curiosity, I interviewed some people I know that frequently goes to the gym, to give us some insight about it.

Before & After

At what age you started going to the gym?
I started at the age of 17.
What does it benefit you?
My passion is basketball. And I know that if I work out, it will help me more in the game.
-Kevin Paquiz

Are you using supplements or any sort of body enhancers?
I did. But I stopped after 2 months due to side effects. So now, I can proudly say "it's all natural". My goal now is to practice a healthy lifestyle.
Before & After

How would you encourage someone to get fit?
In my own opinion, encouraging someone is not an easy task. It should come from within, self motivation is a must and there should always be a goal to reach. Not because someone just persuaded you to do it.
-Meg Moreno

Before (2008)
What made you decide to go to the gym?
I started workin out because of my beer belly. Before, I was so fat that I have 3 necks and huge stomach. Another factor would be peer pressure. Since I stopped skateboarding and sports, coke and eating became a daily hobby.. So from 95lbs i became 185 in 3 months. I also became a common joke because of my huge flab when with other people. Then a friend asked me to go to the gym. I remember bringing a liter of Coke to drink instead of water. From there, started to love what I do and saw improvements in my body.

How many hours and how often do you work out?
After (2011)
A typical workout for me would be 1 hour long. But when I’m with my friends, it goes up to 1 ½ hours. My workout schedule depends on what I want to do with my body and the type of season. Since its cold nowadays, I always tend to bulk up a bit. I'm currently 117lbs last June and now im 126 . But during summer time, my heaviest weight would be up to 115 only
Do you agree that going to the gym is a waste of money?
NO. Working out for me is more of physical fitness and a lifelong investment. A healthy body will always surpass any disease (I hope AIDS as well). If you are strong physically, you can do right things.
-Ralph Racca

What I can say about this is that I really admire those people who go to the gym regularly and people who practice healthy living. People should start living healthy not just to look good but also to balance life as well. Exercise benefits every part of the body, including the mind.

So, are you fit to do it?

Got Talent?

Sorry about the continuous delay of my blog postings, I'm too busy this week.
From contract signing to processing requirements. Ugh!
I really hate that part, not the contract signing, but the processing part.
If only, everything is digital now and can be processed online it will all be easy.
Imagine yourself being scanned online for Pre-Med exam and Drug testing ahahahah!

Anyway, enough of my silliness. Honestly, I'm on my way again to pass all my
completed documents to HR (and I'm running 30 minutes late, LOL!). Yet, eventhough this is urgent, it didn't stop me from blogging. Nah! I'm just too guilty for not posting anything for the last 7 days.

So guys before I go, I would like to share you the video of 2 talented people.
They both came from Got Talent show, 1st one is from Thailand the other one is from the Philippines. Their talents have soared high, they won the competition and bagged the cash prize. I must say that they truly deserved to win. Admit it, everyone can sing but not everyone can sing it in both male/female version as captivating as this.

C'mon, check it out and be proud to be Asian!

Ode To A Dinosaur

Hi Guys!
(especially to all Tekken fanatics)

Remember last Friday when I said I was suppose to feature someone?
Yes I'm not making it up. As a matter of fact, it's an interview with a PRO Tekken player.
Fortunately today, after a week of anxiousness (thinking he would back out ahahah)
I was able to steal some of his time. (Nah..I literally begged for it LOL!).

LET'S BEGIN!

ME: Today I want to introduce you guys, the man behind the most popular Tekken team in the Philippines. Known as JAIL in Tekken Zaibatsu, the Founder of T'Recs himself,
Lyan Tansingco!
LYAN: Hi everyone!
ME: So in behalf of the readers, I would say "HI TOO!" *LOL!*
Lyan, it's an honor for me to interview you.
I know that you're such a busy person so I won't take much of your time.
Let's now begin with my not-so-pro-interview-questions. (haha!)
MEWas Tekken your first played arcade game?
LYAN: Yes.
ME: Cool! So, when did you started playing Tekken and what's your favorite series?
LYAN: I started at the age of 20. (do the math guys, LOL!)
All Tekken series are my favorite, even Tekken 4, which most of my colleagues don't like.
ME: Who's your all-time favorite character?
LYAN: None, specifically. I tried different characters based on their abilities,
I love using characters who I can easily adapt to.
I can only say that Marduk was my most played character since Tekken 4.
ME: No favorites at all, hehe.
What can you say about Tekken 6?
LYAN: It's good.
ME: What do you think about Rage System?
Do you find it awesome?
LYAN: Yes, because it adds spice to the game.
The effects are pretty cool as well as the added damage you get when your health goes critical.
ME: Yeah, for me it also adds suspense, since one mistake will definitely KO the winning character. Would you say that you would like it applied also in previous Tekken series? (referring to Rage System)
LYANHonestly, back then, I am not thinking about those effects in Tekken's previous series. It's a good thing that Namco added those.
MEHow about the Bound system?
LYAN: It's cool too.
ME: How do you maintain your skills in playing Tekken, how long do you practice in a day? How many times a week?
LYAN: No, I don't practice at all. No time anymore.
(isn't that cool? to play without practice and to win w/o practice)
Tekken Zaibatsu Forum
ME: You're known as the founder of TRecs. When did it started and how did you come up with that team name?
LYAN: When I started playing Tekken, back in the 90's, there were 2 teams.
SM North and Recto. SM North team is just SM North. TRec's was Team Recto and it started between year '97-98, we later changed it to Tekken Recto.
(more than 10 years already, awesome right?)
ME: So that's where the name came from.
And what can you say about the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken?
LYAN: No comment.
ME: Why?
LYAN: It's because I haven't tried the game yet, so until I've played Street Fighter X Tekken, that's the only time I'm gonna say something.
ME: Fair enough. Do you always participate in tournaments?
LYAN: Yes. (he's pretty active I presume)
There's just 2 tournaments I wasn't able to attend.
The one in Moomba Resto and Tekken PIT. (see?)
ME: Any trophies you bagged from the tourney?
LYAN: Yes, I got some at home.
ME: Can I have one too? (Lyan just laughed, err..)
Would you recommend other arcade games aside from Tekken?
LYAN: Sure, I also recommend Street Fighter.
ME: Yeah, that has a good gameplay too.
For my last question, how do you maintain respect in Tekken community?
LYAN: You cannot expect other people to always follow, that's human nature. Respect is earned not forced.
ME: Thank you for that Lyan, so to wrap this up. Any message for those aspiring Tekken gamers?

"This game is meant to be fun. There's always someone who will lose and someone who will win. Whatever the outcome is, just accept it. This game will give you either Friends or Enemies. Its up to you which one you'd pick."
-Lyan

And as a gamer myself, I strongly agree that games were developed and created to be enjoyed. I would say that I've learned a lot with that almost 1 hour of interview, whew! Some says he's a snob, but I object since I enjoyed talking to him and literally laughing all through our conversation.

So that's about it.
Thank you guys for reading. Ta!

What's the saddest party?

 Answer: Third Party

Lips Of An AngelI was thinking of a new topic when I accidentally heard this song from Hinder, Lips of an Angel. I have always liked it. I dunno, my ears just find ironic lyrics delectable *LOL!*. Anyway, why did I choose to feature this song?
I just wanted everyone to listen to it. That simple, hehe. ^^

Whenever I hear this song I can't help imagining things. Haha! Oh yeah. I got lots of it. I'm sure most of us here has experienced being a victim of a 3rd party relationship or sometimes the culprit itself. So from the lyrics of this song, we learned that the guy's still inlove with his ex. He even wishes that his girlfriend is her. Cruel, right? But don't worry guys, even girls have felt this too (comin' from the lips of an angel hehe JustKidding!) From the lyrics, the girl initiated the call, so we can say the that girl was the setter (HON, again? haha!). Nahh, you don't have to assume that just because an ex wanted to talk to you, they mean to win you back. Uh-oh!

Rule #1, never assume.
Rule #2, move forward.

Q: What if you don't know that you're the third wheel?
A: Then you're also a victim. Unless you continue being one after knowing it.

Okay, I won't explain this anymore. You're all big boys and girls, you already know how 3rd party works. (Truth is, one of my readers have complaint about the length of my blog, so I'll keep it short this time. Hehe.)

LESSON:
Well, in most cases, people tend to blame the 3rd party as the culprit. But have you ever wondered, that if you have a healthy relationship with your significant ones, those 3rd party will not evolve? Third party will not take place in the picture if you have a smooth sailing relationship. So before you start pointing finger on whose to blame, take a look in your relationship before the 3rd party came in.

Were you and your significant ones really happy?
Or both of you were just pretending to be?

Note: Communication is always the key to every relationship.

Chill out and focus.
Enjoy your Friday guys!

(No longer) Philippines' Best Kept Secret

I got my iPhone last December 2010, about 6 months ago. And would you believe that I just downloaded podcasts recently? Ha-ha! To think that I've been using it for the past 26 weeks. Tard! I really don't have any intention of downloading any podcast. I'm never contented viewing videos on small screens, as well as I got tons of music already.

So, why would I be interested in something that will just eat up my iPhone's storage?
And what made me change my mind and decided to start downloading podcasts?

Well... This is harder than I thought... Uhm..
I'm wanting to keep him for myself.

Just kidding guys! LOL!

Seriously, the reason why I started downloading podcasts is because of the (no longer) Philippines Best Kept Secret,  Johnoy Danao a Filipino independent musician. Mind you, only GTA's (Good Times Acoustic) episode can be found in my Podcast folder. No longer, because GTA is the top 10 most downloaded podcast on iTunes and you can see him now everyday on TV. (He's the one playing the guitar in Emperador Light's TVC, "Gawin mong Lite")

So what's with this guy, what's so special about him?
He just celebrated his birthday last Sunday, June 26. And aside from making extraordinary renditions of songs by artists like Dave Matthews Band, U2, Jackson Browne, Coldplay and many more. He also writes his own songs and serenade weddings! Awesome, right?

Is he single? Any girlfriend?
Yes. He recently stole HER from her previous boyfriend. Nah! Just kidding guys. LOL! He's clean. They started dating after the girl broke up with her ex. (That's what he said, heheheh.) And her name is Grace. He even dedicated Miss Independent to her, one of the songs he played from GTA June 19 - episode.

Too bad, I can't find any more words to describe this guy, simply because I'm dumbstruck again with his voice. So I'm just going to share you the links on where you can find, like, follow or even listen to him.

I really recommend all his podcast episodes, a must on every iPhone. Or even if you don't have an iPhone, just download and save it on iTunes then transfer it to your MP3 players, GTA has Podcast MP3 version and it's amazingly FREE! By the way, GTA's schedule is every Sunday night.

*That's his voice in the background, enjoy!*

There goes my Hero!

"Why there's NO post yesterday?!"

A friend of mine asked me that, earlier this morning. First SMS I received today. This message made me smile. I really thought no one's taking me seriously about blogging, since I was literally promoting it and forcing them to like it. (LOL!) For that, I apologize, I know you miss me guys, but I have this thing about Mondays.
(I really hate Mondays!) Nah.. Just kidding. Truth is I slept the whole day yesterday and I woke up almost 4pm, not to mention the Internet was extremely slow. (Zzz.. Reasons)

Okay, done, let's get back to business. Heheheh.

So for today's topic, I would like to share you guys, one of my addictions (yeah, there's a lot that's why I'm using "addictions") none other than Heroes of Newerth. This game was introduced to me last 2009, by my good friends from Schenectady, NY. That time I was really into DOTA "Defense of the Ancients" (immortal enemy of a player's girlfriend LOL!) the game I'd choose to play over those fancy apps in Facebook and mall arcades. I played DOTA for 3 years then HON came. (weird it sounds like a boyfriend heheheh) It was closed beta (International) that time and you will need a beta key for you to play. My friend gave me the URL of the site and I was able to register, however, no beta key was given. So, what he did was, he purchased a VIP account and gave me 1 of the 3 beta keys (as a freebie from HON for buying it) awesome, right? Now that I have a beta key how am I suppose to use it? I don't have my own computer not to mention it requires a good Internet connection.

NOTE: For those who are not familiar with HON the reason why you need Internet connection is because you'll be playing with different nationalities of different countries. And its not rocket science, that for you to connect with those players you'll need internet connection. It does not have a Local Area Network gaming capability unlike DOTA wherein you can play even without internet connection.
(whew! lot of explaining)

So yeah, that's one major thing that almost made me not play HON. Even BConnected and Netopia (popular Internet Shop in the Philippines) "that time" did not install HON in their computers because of the requirement. Question now is where am I gonna use this beta key? As if 7-11 will swap it to soda or McDonald's gonna give me large fries once I present the beta key to them. LOL! Game God must be irritated of my rants and whining, or it must have been my charm that finally get me to use my precious beta key! So what happened was, the owner of the Internet Shop (where I use to play DOTA) installed HON to some of his computers and he even encouraged everyone to play it. Sweet! ♥

Yehey! Time to play. ☻

At first, I was really having a hard time dealing with it, remember I'm used to playing DOTA. Though they  "almost" have the same concept and interface, item names and hero names were all new to me. And of course, they have original heroes as well. It's like switching your OS from Windows to Mac. But since I love these kind of games, playing it has never been a big deal to me. Honestly, I got addicted to it, especially when I got my own computer I barely sleep at all. It's like after 3-4 hours of sleep, HON's gonna call me to play again. That's how interesting this game is!
Believe me, it's like my own version of heroin. ♣

The only weird thing I experienced in playing HON (well, until now), was everytime guys hear my voice (yup! there's a built-in VOIP, isn't that cool?). They can't believe that girls also enjoy and play these type of games.
"What's your problem dude? Can't you not make me feel like I'm an alien?" (don't worry guys, I don't talk to them like that, it's just a thought ☻)

Here are some screenshots of the characters I have played. (No, I'm not PRO)
If you noticed my fave item is thunderclaw and I love slaying Kongor. *EVIL GRIN*
FYI: I am not using that account anymore.
I have a new one (thanks to Open Beta!) and it's dedicated to Matchmaking (I♥coins).

(HON) Arachna = Viper  (DOTA)
(HON) Plague Rider = Lich King (DOTA)
Puppet Master = HON Original Hero
(HON) Rampage = Barathrum (DOTA)
